Reviewing Annual Report Analytics

Instructions for RPDs and Designees to review and compare program data on the Annual Report Analytics dashboard.

The Annual Report Analytics dashboard allows you to review your program’s responses to key ASHP Annual Residency Accreditation Report questions over the past five years and compare your data with aggregate data from similar programs.

This function is available to all users who have the “RPD” or “Designee” role.

Before You Begin: Understanding the Data

    • Additional data about your program was pulled from the ASHP Residency Directory to aid in comparisons. The data reflects the most recent five-year period and is updated each year. 
      • Program Type
      • Model type
      • Subtype
      • Bed Size (small = > 100, medium = 100-499, large = 500+)
    • Data is displayed by survey year, which reflects the previous residency year. For example, the 2024–2025 survey year reflects resident data from the 2023–2024 residency year.

    Instructions

      1. Click the Dashboard button.
      2. Go to the Annual Report Analytics tab.
      3. Review the program details displayed at the top of the page that was imported from the ASHP Residency Directory.
      4. Select an Annual Report Topic from the drop-down list:
      1. Applicants vs. Available Positions
      2. Resident Completion Rate
      3. Preceptor and Resident Count
      4. Resident Projects Resulting in Institutional Change
      5. Percentage of Residents Taking Positions Requiring Residency Training
    1. Review your program’s data.
      • The bar graph displays responses from the last five years. Hover over each bar to view exact values.
      • The table below the graph has the corresponding data values.
      • The hamburger icon allows you to download the chart as an image or document.
    2. Compare your program’s data to other programs:
      1. Select a comparison option using these available radio buttons. Note: Click the Clear Selection link to remove comparison filters.
        • Pharmacy programs of the same Type
        • Pharmacy programs of the same Model Type
        • Pharmacy programs of the same Model Type and Sub-type
        • Pharmacy programs of the same bed size
      2. Review the graph to compare your program’s data (blue) with aggregated data (orange).
      Dashboard Elements
        • A description of the selected topic appears below the topic. Selected comparison segments are displayed below the graph title.
        • Downloaded charts include the selected comparison segments.
        • The legend below the graph identifies program data (blue) and comparison data (orange).
