Updating Program Information & Options
Instructions for RPDs and Designees to update program information and select program options on the Program Details tab.
These steps can be completed by the RPD or Designee. They allow you to define key program settings, including program length, residency description, and evaluation options. These settings control how your residency program is structured and how evaluations, feedback, and learning experiences are managed.
Instructions
- Click the Manage Program button.
- Select the Details tab.
- Add information or make your selection.
- Click the Save Program button.
Note: Some fields are pre-filled by ASHP approved text and cannot be edited.
Program Details
- Program Length (years): Enter the number of years in the “Program Length” field.
- ASHP Purpose Statement: The PGY1 or PGY2 ASHP Purpose Statement is automatically displayed on this page. Users are not able to remove or edit.
- Residency Description: Enter or update the “Residency Description. “
Program Management Options
- Select Preceptor Evaluation to Use: Select a custom evaluation from the drop-down box if you would like to use a custom evaluation instead of the standard ASHP Preceptor evaluation. Note: ASHP recommends using the standard evaluation.
- Select learning Experience to Use: Select a custom evaluation from the drop-down box if you would like to use a custom evaluation instead of the standard ASHP Learning Experience evaluation. Note: ASHP recommends using the standard evaluation.
- ACHR: Select whether to “Allow ACHR to be Set During Summative Evaluations.” Selecting this option will allow primary preceptors to mark ACHR when completing summative evaluations.
- Editing Learning Experiences: Select whether to “Allow Preceptors to Add and Edit Learning Experiences.” You must also add the preceptor’s name to the individual learning experience’s Preceptor tab before preceptors can edit the learning experience.
- RPD Cosign: Select whether to “Generate RPD Cosign for Evaluations.” This is optional for your program; RPD cosigns are not required by the standard. Only the RPD (not Designees) can complete these cosign tasks. RPD cosign tasks will be reassigned to an Interim RPD when an Interim RPD is assigned to the program.
- ASHP Duty Hours: No longer a program option; electronic ASHP Duty Hours Forms are required by ASHP.
- Resident Development Plan: No longer a program option; electronic ASHP Electronic Resident Development Plans are required by ASHP.
- Feedback Cosigners. If you select this option for your program, when feedback is entered for the resident, the RPD/Designee will receive an email notification to cosign the feedback and a task will be listed on their Global Task list where they can view and cosign the feedback. You can select: RPD, Designee(s), or Both RPD and Designee(s) (for this option, both the RPD and Designee(s) will receive a cosign notification. The cosign will be complete after the first person cosigns the feedback and the task will be removed from the other’s task list). Please see the document “Reviewing Formative Feedback” for more information.
- Resident Match: Indicates the program uses the ASHP Resident Match.
- Is Specialty Program: Indicates the program was approved by ASHP as a specialty program. At this time, this option is only available to PGY2 Pediatric residency programs.
