Modifying A Step Or Scan Type On Chain Of Custody Workflows

How to manage Chain of Custody Workflow Steps and Scan Types.

Any edits to a workflow such as removing a step/scan type or adding a new step/scan type, will not affect any prior captures of that workflow.

Adding a Step or Scan type

Adding required steps or scan types does not impact historical dispenses where the workflow was used. Any future dispenses where that workflow is used will now require the new step/scan type.

  1. Navigate to Application Administration
  2. Click on Chain of Custody Workflows
  3. Click on the Workflow Name you want to modify
  4. If you are adding a new step
    1. Click the Add New Workflow Detail
    2. Select a Step from the drop down menu
    3. Check off the boxes of what Scan Types are needed to capture at this step
    4. Click Save
    5. For additional steps, follow this same guide from step 4.
  5. If you are adding a new Scan Type to an existing step
    1. Click on the Workflow Step to edit
    2. Select the new Scan Types required
    3. Click Save
    4. For additional Scan Types on other steps, follow this same guide from step 5.

Removing a Step or Scan type

Removing any steps or scan types from a Chain of Custody workflow can be done without impacting previous dispenses where the workflow was used. For example, if you edit Pharmacy Pickup Workflow and that was used the previous week on a dispense, the steps will never change for that dispense.

  1. Navigate to Application Administration
  2. Click on Chain of Custody Workflows
  3. Click on the Workflow Name you want to modify
  4. If you are removing a step
    1. Locate the Workflow Step and click Remove
    2. Users will need to click Confirm to remove the step
  5. If you are removing a Scan Type from an existing step
    1. Click on the Workflow Step to edit
    2. Deselect the new Scan Types required
    3. Click Save
    4. For additional Scan Types on other steps, follow this same guide from step 5.
