Adding Or Changing A Chain Of Custody Workflow On A Single Dispense

A guide on how to add or change a Chain of Custody workflow on a single dispense.

In some cases, it may be necessary to add a workflow to a single dispense that doesn't normally utilize Chain of Custody.

Adding a Workflow to a Dispense

  1. Navigate to the protocol
  2. Click on the Patients/Subject tab
  3. Locate the participant and click on MRN Number
  4. Locate the dispense in the prescriptions tab and click on the Rx Number
  5. Click on the Chain of Custody tab
  6. Click Add Workflow
  7. Locate the appropriate Workflow and click Assign

The dispense will now have a Chain of Custody workflow associated with it. It is recommended to reprint all dispensing labels after the workflow is assigned to ensure the QR code can be scanned by end users.

Changing a Workflow on a Dispense

Changing a workflow that was previously assigned can be done if the workflow should be a different from the default workflow. When you change a workflow, the previous workflow assign becomes inactive and no longer usable, however, all already completed scans will be stored and retrieveable.

  1. Navigate to the protocol
  2. Click on the Patients/Subject tab
  3. Locate the participant and click on MRN Number
  4. Locate the dispense in the prescriptions tab and click on the Rx Number
  5. Click on the Chain of Custody tab
  6. Click Add Workflow
  7. Locate the appropriate Workflow and click Assign

Changing workflows will not impact the QR code that was already printed on dispense labels. Users will need to rescan or refresh the page if they already have it open to see the new workflow.
