Updating An Inventory Expiration

If you receive an expiration extension for your inventory, you will want to update the expiration date with Vestigo.

Updates to the Expiration Date will update any selected inventory, create an Inventory Edit transaction and an entry in the Audit Log, but will NOT update any historical shipment receipts, send outs or prescription fills where this inventory was used. The Accountability Log will continue to display the current expiration date on the Receive line with all subsequent expiration date edits.

  1. Navigate to the protocol.
  2. Click on the Inventory Tab.
  3. Click on View/Edit Inventory.
  4. Select the drug from the drop down menu.

Additionally, you can also add a filter by lot number here as well.

  5. Locate the item(s) you need to edit.
  6. Click on the Edit link on the right side.

If you are editing multiple items from the same lot number, you only need to click on Edit for an item in that lot number.

  7. On this screen, the Drug Name and Lot Number are automatically selected. From the drop down menu, select Update an Expiration Date.
  8. A grid will appear of inventory you can select that you wish to update. The grid defaults to 5 visible rows of inventory.
We recommend you select the Show All from the pagination drop down menu to ensure you are selecting the correct inventory.

  9. Once the correct inventory has been selected, enter the New Expiration in day-month-year format, or check Unknown.
  10. You will also need to enter a reason for the edit. This reason will be visible on the DARF.
  11. Once completed, click on the blue Save Edit button.
